Public Interest in Macclesfield Town Centre Redevelopment is high
The proposed plans for the redevelopment of Macclesfield town centre went on show to the public last weekend at an exhibition held in the Senior Citizens Hall in Macclesfield.
Wilson Bowden Developments, hosts of the exhibition, showcased the latest master plan for the new scheme along with artists’ images showing how the town square and the department store will look within the new scheme.
The exhibition formed part of a comprehensive consultation strategy carried out by Wilson Bowden Developments in conjunction with Macclesfield Borough Council, which has also included meetings with public sector groups and local & voluntary groups within Macclesfield.
Over 400 people attended the exhibition which took place over two days 21st and 22nd September, and everyone who attended was encouraged to give their views by completing a feedback form.
Emma Newman Development Manager at Wilson Bowden Developments said;
“We are encouraged by the level of local interest in the development scheme and the feedback given on the latest master plan will be incorporated in to the final plans. The planning application for the development is then due to be submitted early 2007.
The exhibition has now been moved to the council offices where the master plan is still on display. Information packs and response forms will also be available until 13th October so there is still time for people to express their opinions.
