Kingsway, Rochdale

Overview

Kingsway is a site of regional and national importance. This 420 acre site is one of the largest business park sites in the north west and is strategically located at Junction 21 of the M62 motorway.

Wilson Bowden Developments are part of the Kingsway Partnership, which also comprises the Northwest Regional Development Agency, Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council and Rochdale Development Agency.

The Partnership will develop the site over 15 years and Kingsway has planning permission for 3.3 million sq ft of potential floor space, predominantly general and light industrial uses, offices, storage and distribution, hotels, ancillary retail and leisure uses, together with residential and 74 acres of parkland.

Careful consideration of environmental issues is regarded as vital. A wide ranging Environmental Impact Assessment has been undertaken by independent consultants. Existing natural features and areas identified as of ecological importance, have been carefully incorporated into the indicative Masterplan. The proposals therefore feature a high proportion of green space, where new wildlife habitats and recreation opportunities will be introduced.
